Generational Missions was founded by Larry and Elijah Cochran, a grandfather and grandson looking to make a generational impact in communities around the world. Through 35 years of Larry’s experience as a missionary and Elijah’s eagerness to blaze a new trail, Generational Missions takes a unique approach at indigenous partnership and fulfilling the great commission.

Larry and Jenny

Larry | Founder

Larry has been fulfilling the great commission and pastoring for over thirty five years across more than 25 countries. Along with pastoring numerous churches, he served as President and CEO of GO InterNational for 21 years and pioneered a sustainable method of widespread church planting in Central and South America.

He comes from humble beginnings in Georgia, where he met his wife Jenny. Together they have three children and nine grandchildren who all live in the Wilmore, Kentucky area, where Larry graduated from Asbury Seminary in 1977.

Along with his love of sharing the gospel, Larry also enjoys spending time with his grandkids, chocolate ice cream, and watching NBA playoff basketball.

Please pray for Larry as he steps into this new chapter of ministry in following what the Lord has laid on his heart.

Elijah | Co-Founder

/Communications Director

Elijah has traveled and sought to live out a calling of medical missions for the last decade, traveling to Central and South America in remote locations of the Amazon, where his passion has been to serve the most unreached groups through partnering with native medical staff to bring medicine to places it has never been before.

He and his wife, Shiann, live in Burgin, Kentucky, where they both graduated high school, and where Elijah now coaches Middle School Basketball. Elijah works full-time as an EMT with Boyle County EMS as well as an on-call Firefighter/EMT for Mercer County’s “Station 6.”

Please pray for Elijah as he steps into his first ministry position in obedience to what God has called him to do.

How it works

Generational Missions utilizes a three-step project model, that is both sustainable and effective. We rely on long-term indigenous partnerships for guidance and direction on where the need is the greatest, and how we can effect the most impact.

1. Scouting

This is Desi, one of our indigenous partners. He traverses the Amazon Jungle spreading the gospel and finding the most destitute areas in need of hope. He identifies the need.

2. Planning

Desi partners with local leaders and community members to capture an idea of what is necessesary to meet the need, and formulates a plan to execute.

3. Outreach

Funding is provided by YOU the donor, through Generational Missions. Desi and the community execute their plan, and need is met. On to the next project!

Why We Serve

At the heart of our purpose lies the profound inspiration drawn from the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). Just as Jesus entrusted his disciples with the mission to "go and make disciples of all nations," we are equally driven to spread hope, love, and empathy to people from every corner of the world. Guided by this transformative call, we are committed to fostering a global community united by compassion, faith, and the pursuit of a brighter future.
